US Open update... I competed in the US Open qualifier on Monday at Bermuda Dunes, CC in Palm Desert, Ca. I went into the event with a mild shoulder strain, but overall, nothing out of the ordinary for a 40-something year old athlete. I was calm and ready...felt good about the day. I had played there in the Bob Hope Classic some years ago whereby my son witnessed me playing in my first PGA Tour event..needless to say, I have fond memories. The golf course (greens) were playing the hardest Ive ever played...anywhere, anytime. But, Ive been working hard on the short game. I shot 74, two over par and missed by a shot. Though I didnt make it this year, the work that Ive put in is definitely paying off and its only going to get better.
