The Disney ABC Television Group (DATG) is home to all of The Walt Disney Companys worldwide entertainment and news television properties. ABC News is responsible for all of the ABC Television Networks news programming on a variety of platforms: television, radio and digital. Responsibilities The Rights and Clearances legal intern will support the department’s team with various projects related to the licensing of third party content for ABC News programs and the distribution of ABC News content to its partners and clients. The intern should have a basic understanding of copyright and contract law as well as the television and new media business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Copyright research • Follow-up with show producers for show rights information • Various administrative projects as directed by department management Basic Qualifications •All candidates must be eligible to work in the US •All candidates must be at least 18 years old •All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship •All candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 2 full days/week (8 hours/day) •All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship •All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session •All candidates must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office •Demonstrated interest (academic or internship) in legal field Preferred Qualifications •Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year; JD in their 1L year •Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher •Basic understanding of copyright, licensing and contract law •Previous experience (academic or internship) in television, news & new media production Job Posting Industries Television Additional Information These positions are with: Am Brd Companies, Inc Compensation: Intern positions are paid employment opportunities.
