USA folks: Please consider contacting your senators and congress people to sign this letter about speech devices funding. (aka, the type of device that Dr Stephen Hawking uses to talk and write). bit.ly/VIRDuj. This tech is REALLY important for people with ALS (and millions of others) and the Medicare folks are change the rules of the game to make a hard process even harder. Which also sends the message to private companies that it isnt worth investing in this technology, because there might not be funding for it. This impacts all people around the world because so many of the device manufactures are based in the States. That is it.. we want signatures from congress to put a bit of pressure on things so we can get clarification and hopefully some policy change.
