USCIS TO BEGIN ACCEPTING H-1B PETITIONS The USCIS will begin accepting H-1B cap-subject petition filings on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 for fiscal year 2015, with an employment start date of October 1, 2014. We are recommending that employers be prepared to have our office file their petitions on Monday, March 31, 2014 for receipt on Tuesday, April 1. Any filings received prior to the April 1 date will be rejected by USCIS. Employers and skilled professionals should begin preparing their cases as early as possible as the cap numbers are allocated quickly and failure to prepare in advance can result in having to wait an entire year to reapply.
