USEF Equestrian of Honor/ Martha Rattner It is a wonderful thing to be recognized for what you have invested a lifetime trying to accomplish. I was lucky to have had the opportunity to work for people who set the foundation that the Arabian breed is still standing on today. Judy Burrell, Jim Warden, James A. Fisher, Don DeLongpre, Mike Nichols, Shiela Varian and Ray LaCroix are the voices and visions in my head. The horses we had were so amazing and we shared the journey together during stages and phases over the last three decades. When looking back and remembering I smile and laugh because Reece Smith once said now you are ready for the Green Berets. We worked long hours, drove thousands of miles and learned a lot about life with horses and the people with passion for them. I worked with Jim Bowman over 20 years ago and I owe him a lot because he turned me around when I had gone too far around a corner and gotten lost. Jim is the best horse trainer anywhere, any time of any breed. I will always be grateful that he took the time to teach me. One last comment, my clients and horses have been good to me over the years and hopefully there will be another decade or two.
