USGS scientists are working with The Nature Conservancy and the Bureau of Land Management to monitor ecosystem restoration in southeast Arizona with unmanned aerial systems (UAS). High-school students with the Youth Engaged Stewardship Program installed one-rock dams on the sacaton flats at the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area. The UAS imagery will be used in concert with field work and other remotely-sensed data to document the effectiveness of these structures and their impact on surface-water. geography.wr.usgs.gov/science/aridlands/index.html
