USRowing is sponsoring an Adaptive Rowing Classification Workshop, in Sarasota, Florida on March 2 and 3, 2015 at the Days Inn Siesta Key (5774 Clark Road, Sarasota FL 34233, 941-921-7812) Judy Bork Morrison, FISA Head of Classification and USA Classification Coordinator, and Jeff McGinnis, FISA International Technical Classifier will lead this workshop, intended for coaches, former rowers, and medical professionals to become certified as USA classifiers for Adaptive-rowing events, and for Para-rowers who have an interest in competing, but have not yet been officially classified. Expanding the knowledge base of our coaches in the growing Adaptive rowing field is key for our success at every level. If you are interested in becoming a Adaptive-rowing medical or technical classifier please register at the following link; Adaptive Workshop Registration Form https://docs.google/forms/d/1fkSB3xrvFz3Im4KMxiAGSC8QnvY87emN30rsXrcGV-Y/viewform For your information medical classifiers can be Medical Doctors (MD), Physical Therapists (PT), or Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). They must have extensive knowledge and experience with goniometrical measurements and manual muscle testing skills. Technical classifiers can be rowers, former rowers, coaches, and those with practical knowledge of the sport of rowing. They should have experience with Adaptive-Rowing. Attendees who complete this workshop will be able to classify Adaptive-Rowers for club, local, and national events. Any questions please contact Debbie Arenberg ([email protected]).
