UTPA honored five distinguished alums and Valley legislative delegation at Alumni Ball The University of Texas-Pan American honored five distinguished alumni as UTPAs Pillars of Success as well as the Rio Grande Valley legislative delegation with a Presidential Pillar during a recent ceremony held March 29 at the Visitors Center. The honorees were also recognized during the Universitys annual Roaring 20s-themed Alumni Ball held following the Pillars ceremony. The Pillars of Success are a group of accomplished alumni who are chosen among their peers each year for their personal and career success and serve as role models for current and future Broncs. The legislative delegation was recognized for their efforts to create the new university - The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley - and a medical school in the region.
