Udo Abasi > FRIENDS OF UDOM EMMANUEL ON FACEBOOK(FOUE) UDOM EMMANUEL REPRESENTS AKWA IBOMS FUTURE- PRINCE ENOBONG The Honourable Commissioner For Environment and Mineral Resources, Prince Enobong Uwah has praised the steerling leadership qualities of the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Mr. Udom Emmanuel. Prince Uwah made the remarks in Lagos on Sunday evening while addressing a mamooth crowd at the second tour of the Akwa Ibom Young Professionals Leadership Initiative (AK-PRO) to sensitize Akwa Ibom professionals on the need to actively participate in politics. The tour which took place at one of the Conference Halls of the Prestigious Protea Hotel, GRA, Ikeja drew the political class and Akwa Ibom Professionals based in the countrys commercial capital of Lagos and had the theme, The Involvement of Professionals in Politics: A Call for Attitudinal Change He said Mr Emmanuel is an asset to the state and that within the short frame of time he has worked closely with him, he is amazed at the depth of his capacity and his passion for excellence. The Uyo Prince noted that Mr Emmanuels background, experience and passion eminently qualifies him to be considered to take the Akwa Ibom story to the next chapter. Udom is fresh and clean. I have worked closely with him and I can testify to that. I am not someone who is easily convinced. When you consider where he is coming from and where Akwa Ibom is heading, you will be left with no other answer than to say that he is the man. Here is someone with over 23 years of solid experience in Financial Services and corporate governance. Someone who is authorized to carry out Financial services in the United Kingdom by the FSA. Someone with experience and contacts in business development, international investors relations, oil and gas, infrastructure, power, telecommunications, government relations and management. Which better person will fit the shoes? Prince Enobong Uwah decried the sad attitude of some elders from Uyo Senatorial District who he said are bent on whipping ethnic sentiments. I am an Ibibio man from Uyo Senatorial District, intact from Uyo local government Area. I know that the governorship seat has been occupied by Obong Attah and Chief Goodwill Akpabio both from Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts. It is only fair and just that power should shift to Eket Senatorial District. For those who reason that power should come to the Ibibios. Are the people of Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin and Onna not Ibibio people? The event also featured presentation of a Keynote Address presented by Dr Victor Udo, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Power and Ag MD, Ibom Power Company. Other speakers at the event were: Barr. Sylvester Okonkwo - CEO, Chinto Technologies Ltd; Mr. Aniekan Umanah - Honourable Commissioner of Information and Communications; Barr. Ofonime Enoh - Lead Facilitator of the Lagos Event and Principal Partner, Lincoln Associates, Abuja; Mr. Ifiok Akpabio - SA to the Governor on Project Monitoring and Evaluation; Mr. Steve Akpan - SA to the Governor on MDGs; Isantim Kenneth Okon - Executive Chairman of Etinan LGA and a host of others. The Akwa Ibom Young Professionals Leadership Initiative is a group of over 300 Akwa Ibom Professionals with the vision to become the reference point for developing young professionals in Leadership and ensuring youth inclusiveness in government policy formulation. Their objectives include developing and sharing real development strategies and support communities in job creation strategies and advancing the good interest of her members in all legal and professional dimensions.
