Ugh! Jury duty today was both difficult and exciting. First, I had a rough time making it through the metal detectors at the federal courthouse because I wore a pair of steel toed boots. It was the first time in my life I wished I matched my soxs. The case was going to be a complicated accounting trial. So I really didnt put my heart and soul into it. I was no Juror Honey Boo Boo. They gave us an hour for lunch. It was an absolute race to run to McDonalds (which I dislike) for a fast meal. On the way back to the federal courthouse I hit a dog with my car! The mutt made it or at least lived long enough to run up on somebodies porch. I would normally would have checked on the dog but I HAD to get back to court. Again, to re-enter the federal building I had to remove my boots and give them and my McDonald meal to the security guard to pass through the bomb sniffing machine. How that made it through Ill never know! It took all day for the judge to pick 8 jurors. I placed 9th in the ranking. I am ok with that. I just wasnt on my game today, but, I have two more tries this month! Ill be more prepared nextime!
