Ugh. So.. I had a client vomit on my jacket, Ive had client pee the seat, Ive had all manner of foul-smelling people in my vans over time but today.. I encountered my most foul client. I went to pick up this old lady by 18th and Homan. The neighborhood is full of thugs and hoodlums, so I knelt down by her chair on the front porch when she decided to hand me money out in public. Ill just get close to get this money so no one sees, I said. Well, I want a kiss, she replied while gripping the money as I grabbed it. I almost recoiled at the combination of her response and the terrible odor of piss and unwashed, old woman genitals. After not saying anything, her friend who was sitting with her repeated to me what she said. I said, Oh, I heard. As I was about to tell her the policy of every ride needing a fare, the client changed her tune slightly, Let me kiss your hand. I just want to kiss your hand. I almost agreed to this just so we could get moving (keeping in mind that I have Germ X wipes in my jacket) and then she changed her mind again. She wanted to kiss me on the cheek. I just out and said, Thats not going to happen, as nice as possible. She finally relinquished the money and stood up. I offered my hand to help her get down the stairs and immediately regretted it. Her hand felt disgustingly wet and clammy. I looked at the stairs and noticed a long long trail of moisture that originated at her chair. I got her into the van and gripped a Germ X wipe tightly until I got to her destination where I used gloves to assist her out.
