Listen to how little the cop is actually paying attention to the responses he is getting from the questions he is asking. He asked the mother if she had her sons ID, which makes no sense at all to begin with, and she clearly says No, I only have my own, yet, the cop asks her again the same question, and in his mind; because he is obviously not listening, he hears the exact same response which was completely incorrect with regards to what her actual response was.
