Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych , now trying after last weeks failed attempt to sign a comprehensive agreement with the EU and the subsequent demonstrations in Kiev to reach out to the EU. EU Commission informs Monday in a press release that Yanukovych has called Commission President José Manuel Barroso to follow up on last week and this weekends events. Barroso replied that the commission would accept and will discuss the implementation of agreements already concluded - but that one is not prepared to reopen the already concluded negotiations .
