Ultimate Frisbee athlete Pat Thorpe getting jobs done at the RAD centre this morning! Pat is currently trying out for the under 23 mens Australian Ultimate Frisbee team, (position - defensive receiver) he has made the final 40, hoping to make the final playing squad in December. Before the final try outs Pat has decided to put in some extra effort for his physical preparation. For his first session Pat completed some basic landing/low load plyometric drills with the hurdles. On the frisbee field the ability to land in firstly a safe position but also to be in an attacking position is essential. Soft feet, (absorb the force), solid base of support, and eyes up (cant catch a frisbee looking at the ground!!!). Moved into the shed to complete his strength work before returning to the turf for some upper body strength and stability work (Pat may also be a gymnast.... pretty impressive body control). Hopefully by putting in the extra effort to increase his performance it will enhance his chances of playing for Australia!! #RADcentre #GoPro #handstands #frisbee #jumps
