“Ultimately the buck stops with me,” Obama replied. “I get frustrated, and I’ve said before and I continue to say I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get Congress — and Republicans in Congress in particular — to think less about politics and party and think more about what’s good for the country.” I understand what he is saying in the interview linked below, but the above quote from the interview I can only describe as the personification of arrogance. Yes, some persons can obstruct, but this is independent of party affiliation. What I find arrogant here is the statement that Republicans, by challenging his goals, are pursuing objectives that are not good for the country. Apparently, differences of opinion are not to be tolerated, and solutions for what is believed to be best reside solely with a single party and the current resident of the White House. The idea of compromise embodied here seems to be "Do it my way and we have a deal." mediaite/tv/obama-on-cnn-congress-has-two-jobs-but-too-worried-about-rush-limbaugh-to-do-them/
