Ultimately the participation in the commercial sphere along religious values is something deeply rooted in many religious groups, some of which historically operate on the right and some of which operate historically on the left. Such groups include the Quakers, Mennonites, Amish, and much more. Our nation has traditionally afforded such groups relatively wide latitude in the secular domains, with the Supreme Court going so far as to unanimously strike down mandatory education laws as applied to the Amish. In a pluralistic society we have to acknowledge--- and accept--- that there will be disagreement.
