Ultra Rainbow Acan Lord Coral (Acanthastrea lordhowensis) Australian Lord Acans are available in a wide variety of colors and patterns. They grow well in home aquariums and are a great choice for Nano Reef aquariums. Each polyp we deliver is about 1 cm diameter. Aussie Acans do best under moderate lighting provided by high output T5 flourescents as or power compacts. They can be kept under metal halides, but can remain in the aquarium should be lower. Place them where they will receive moderate water flow. Acans are not stuck and can close to most types of Zoanthids. Their tentacles not span 1 , so they are usually not a threat to other corals in the aquarium. They are subseptible to the sting of other corals so be careful when you place them in the neighborhood of corals with Sweeper tentacles, as Hammer Coral, Torch Coral or Echinophyllia. We feed our Acans a combination of cyclops and mysis shrimp. Spot will help them multiply faster feeding your acans. The polyp size can amount to no less than 2.5 cm when fully open after several months of feeding. Maintaining good calcium, alkalinity and magnesium levels will help your Lord Acan grow and fully open.
