Unable to See There are some things that motivate us to action. Most everyone has a belief or desire that is important in guiding their life. Money, significance, responsibility for family, or desire for change are often at the root of our action. Paul is a great example. He was a well educated and powerful religious leader in Jerusalem. He had the political clout to imprison Christians for talking about Jesus as the Messiah/ Savior. He was a radical. He was sincere in his belief that he was defending Gods law. He was sincerely wrong. Acts 9 3 As he traveled and was nearing Damascus, a light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. 4 Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? 5 Who are You, Lord? he said. I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, He replied. 6 But get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do. 7 The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the sound but seeing no one. 8 Then Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing. So they took him by the hand and led him into Damascus. 9 He was unable to see for three days, and did not eat or drink. Paul was blind for three days. He obeyed the Lord and went into the city and waited. The Lord sent Ananias to pray for him and the blindness was removed-both physically and spiritually. Paul became the great apostle and wrote much of the New Testament after his blindness was removed. Let us examine our lives and motives today. Have we some blindness to our own attitudes or motives? Dear Father, Please shine Your bright heavenly light on our blindness- make us aware of the changes that must be made to prepare us for our best service to You and Your Kingdom. Make us to have pure hearts and clean hands, In Jesus Name, Amen.
