Unanimous Resolutions Passed At The CEC Meeting On 10 August 2014 At DAP National Headquarters In Kuala Lumpur: A. DAP supports in full the proposal by PKR to replace Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim with PKR President Dato Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the Menteri Besar of Selangor. a. All 15 Selangor DAP State Assemblypersons have expressed full support for this position. b. The Selangor Pakatan Rakyat Government remains and continues as a stable and legitimate government with 43 State Assemblypersons in the 56 person assembly following the expulsion of Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim from PKR. c. Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim no longer has the democratic mandate and legitimate authority to remain as Menteri Besar of Selangor following his expulsion from PKR and he should therefore resign gracefully forthwith. d. All 3 DAP EXCOs in Selangor will remain in their posts in the transition period until the new Selangor Menteri Besar is appointed. e. Such a transition arrangement is necessary so as to ensure the continued administration of Selangor until the appointment of the new Menteri Besar. B. DAP condemns the abuse of the Sedition Act by persecuting DAP leaders through initiating the sedition probe against DAP Parliamentary leader and MP for Gelang Patah Sdr Lim Kit Siang for a speech he wrote in conjunction with Teoh Beng Hocks 5th death anniversary. C. DAP strongly opposes any attempt by BN or any Federal Government authority to ban or close down Facebook and will organize huge nation-wide demonstrations against this primitive proposal as it: a. violates the guarantees of no Internet censorship in Malaysia; b. denies the right of freedom of expression by only barring the right of ordinary Malaysians to voice their views and revert back to the regressive position of permitting only those with monopolistic control over the news media to express their views; c. deprives the right of the poor and youths to communicate thorough a social media tool that is affordable, accessible and convenient; and d. destroys the business opportunities of the Internet economy that is reliant on Facebook that could lead to losses amounting to hundreds of millions if not billions of ringgit.
