They are not my favourite books, nor are they books that I objectively think are the best written, but they have had an impact on my life. In no particular order: - The Wordy Shipmates, Sarah Vowell - Fights of our Lives, John Duffy - Redwall, Brian Jaques - The Alchemist, Paolo Coelho - The Civil War, Shelby Foote - The Catholic Church, Hans Kung - Conquests and Cultures, Thomas Sowell - Utilitarianism, John Stuart Mill - Our Magnificent Bastard Tongue, John McWhorter - The Readers Digest Atlas of the World And, now, I nominate Isabel, Andrew, Kelly, Daniel, Nathan and Alex to list ten books that have influenced you. Apologies for the chain letter, and, no, there is nothing socially redeeming, like dumping ice on yourself, about this. Im just genuinely curious.
