The very rich can anoint their candidate with donations. The rest of us only have our votes. Last I checked, it took votes to actually get elected. A growing number of Republicans have gotten tired of holding their noses at the voting booth and have sat out in disgust, including myself, as Ive tended to write in dead country music stars in elections when I couldnt stomach the candidates. I believe there may be more alienated conservatives for the Republican Party to gain than moderates.
