Uncle Lacy memory: One of my very distinct memories of Uncle Lacy (one of MANY!) is of him standing on the corner of E. 4th Ave and Pine Street (at the Boy Scout hut) directing traffic and getting the Parade line up ready for the Strawberry Festival for many years. I remember him wearing his Lions Club hat and I seem to remember him wearing a Lions Club vest or something close to it. Ill be in Chadbourn for the Strawberry Festival next weekend and will totally recall that when Im on that corner. Wish I could be there for the funeral tomorrow...especially for Roy Shade. He helped me get through Daddys funeral. What is one of YOUR memories of Uncle Lacy? (Ill tell about him getting me out of a VERY severe ticket later....LOL. Daddy had to call him to make arrangements for me.
