Uncluttering ahead. For over two months I stopped reading newspapers. I was getting the feeling that we Mallus were too negative, cynical and lethargic because the first thing in the day we do is read newspapers and watch all the news channels to get the divergent political shades. So I stopped reading the Malayala Manorama (I glance through the ads - because I am in advertising) and The Times of India and The Hindu - I just skimm thro the headlines (I havent cut the papers because my Mom reads them, wife doesnt - has no time). Now with TV effecting my sons studies (he was getting addicted to Chotta Bheem and Oggy), we decided to stop paying our satellite TV subscription. So, no TV, virtually no news. Would you believe me if I say that I have more time, we spend quality time talking, we do a bit of reading and kiddos studies are progressing nicely? Uncluttering can also be that of the mind. Though Ive followed the principle of minimalism as much as I could at home (less furniture, less utensils, less clothes... but eh, I have kept all my books and CDs :-) ), this seems like a step forward. theminimalists/ youtu.be/GgBpyNsS-jU
