Und hier unsere "Freunde" von Seiten der Airlines: "Airline associations urge MEPs to reject motion to withdraw european commission’s proposal on flight time limitations The heads of the airline associations AEA and ERA today expressed their deep concern about the vote on Monday 30 September in the European Parliament’s TRAN committee to withdraw the European Commission’s proposal to amend the EU rules on Flight Time Limitations (FTLs), and called on MEPs to reject the motion. The European Commission’s proposal, which was endorsed by Member States in July, is the result of an intense rulemaking procedure. Conducted by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), an independent EU body under European law, it took into account the views of all stakeholders including pilots and trade unions, scientific evidence, two public consultations and numerous meetings with national aviation authorities. The associations believe that the existing and proposed FTLs are safe. However, as a result of this robust process, European airlines accept the harmonised European FTLs, despite the operational impact the new rules will have on European commercial air transport (CAT operators). The heads of the airline associations AEA and ERA comment: “Aviation safety is an issue that should not be subject to manipulation and misinformation. The additional flight time limitations and restrictions proposed by the European Commission will affect airlines. However, despite this, the airline associations accept the Commission’s proposal on FTL. We consider that the conclusions drawn from the debates in the expert rulemaking group leave us with no other option. “Nonetheless, the associations would like to make it clear that we believe that the reasons for the withdrawal of the Commission’s FTL proposal cited by trade unions and representative of flight crew under the false pretext of safety are completely unjustified and unfounded. Moreover, the associations believe that such an important safety proposal should not be rejected on the basis of political and social considerations. “We urge MEPs to make a well-considered decision and vote against the motion on Monday.” "
