Under 17 girls Vic v WA We lost in 3 There was some exquisite blocking and hitting from the big mid KATEOS Vic v QLD Same as above with positions We won in 3 dominating the game with controlled play winning one set 25-6 Holding true to tradition the girls were held up by prior games for both there first and their second game. A bit of focus was lost and our minds started deter from our fundamentals and standards in which we set ourselves. The first game was against Western Australian and was a tough one from the first point. The first set was 25/19 with the girls looking more awake by the end. Through the middle there was a lot of strong blocking by Ebony and some solid hitting by Kate. Dave giving Beth the hassel about getting some hands on the balls was followed by a good touch from her. The second set was 25/21 the girls getting closer again! We ended with a comeback but it was too late. Chloe had some strong serving followed by some great pick ups from Catherine and Jess in the back court! The next set was 25/19 again with a late comeback attempt. Teagan and Kaylee kept the sets strong while Marley and Matilda used tipping to our advantage. After the loss in the morning the girls were fired up and ready for a win and win is definitely what they did! They played Queensland silver and young team but one with a never say due attitude. The west girls had this covered though and kept it up the whole match to win in 3 sets! The first set was 25/23 the girls still warming up the set was close. Teagan had a change and played a bit of opposite and tore it up hitting several winners! Chloe and Beth also playing opposite we smart in play and kept us in the set. The second set was 25/8 with Kate showing of her serving skills and starting us o with a big lead! Catherine and Matilda then continued our lead by ending the point with any ball that came to them set by Kaylee perfectly! The third set close again 25/19 as the girls got off to a bad start but regained themselves with some steady passing from Jess and Ebony then Marley getting it done with some solid blocking. A solid effort for the day shown the by west girls
