Under 7 - 25 Jan Another week and another game - except this was not just any other game...... This week our young lads were away to Eltham Lions. As soon as we trudged our way through the bog to the pitch it was clear what they were in for! Within ten minutes of practice all seven (and especially the keeper) looked like that had taken a mud bath. A couple of mistakes and boots stuck in the bog of a pitch saw them two down within minutes of the off; but heads didnt drop. The boys battled on and with some great tackles and crosses from our MOTM number 3, it wasnt long before they pulled one back. The team work was fantastic today and a superb end to end run from our number 7 played in the in form number 8 who smashed in the equaliser! A well deserved draw. Having attempted to find boots under the mud cakes on their feet, the boys were buoyed for round 2! Again they conceded early followed by an unfortunate penalty. Yet again they marched on, pulling one back. In the second half they looked out at 3-1 down but a fantastic last ten minutes saw two wonderful goals from our number 4 to draw again. End to end excitement for the full 40 minutes made these the games of the season so far. Two draws coming from behind, in those conditions, felt like a cup final win for our young boys who went away beaming. Happy Days Under 7s!
