Under difficult circumstances the beMOBILE Botswana Premier League - TopicsExpress

Under difficult circumstances the beMOBILE Botswana Premier League will go into the Christmas break with all the first round games having been played. This weekend will see all elite teams in action across various grounds. The motive will be to finish the round on a high and the action will start on Friday night running until Sunday when all teams will play their 15th game of the 2014/15 season. This has often been overlooked, but those close to the action believe that there has been a huge improvement in the way fixtures have been done this campaign. This is despite the lack of playing grounds in the country. In Gaborone the league had to do without the University of Botswana ground and the national stadium. At the beginning of the season even the SSKB was not available. The Otse stadium has also not been available this season. This left the league with only the New Lobatse stadium, the national stadium partly and the Molepolole artificial turf as the main venues this season. The stadia challenge has seen some teams play away from home. Township Rollers have taken one of their home games to Serowe. ECCO City Greens have also played some of their games in Selibe Phikwe. Despite all the challenges though, the league is going into the final lap with all teams having played equal number of games - something that was not possible in the past despite many available venues.
