Under former President Viktor Yanukovych, a little-known 29-year-old, Serhiy Kurchenko, became a billionaire overnight as Yanukovych and his associates began funneling money to Kurchenko so he could act on their behalf. Sevgil Musaieva-Borovyk, the Editor-in-Chief of Ukrainskaya Pravda worked on a team with Reuters reporters to investigate how and why Kurchenko became rich overnight. Kurchenko is one of many Yanukovych cronies who remains untouched despite evidence against him that could be grounds for prosecution. According to media reports, Kurchenko fled to Russia after the Maidan Revolution. Sevgil Musaieva-Borovyk, Oleksandr Danyliuk, the Presidents Representative in Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Andrii Shuran, the International Program Director at the Anticorruption Center took part in a roundtable discussion during Hromadske Internationals Sunday Show on Dec. 14, 2014 that was moderated by co-hosts Ian Bateson and Nataliya Gumenyuk.
