Under the Law of God, there are no human legislators, and the powerful of the day are not allowed to pass whatever laws they want. The Law is regularly read to everyone in the society, so there is no special class of lawyers who only know it. The number of laws is limited to what is in the Bible so that the people remain free of excessive legislation, and secure that the rules wont ever change by the whim of this or that political manipulator. There is no political class to profit from legislation simply because legislation is not allowed. The only function of government is the judicial: local courts who adjudicate based on the Law of God. The executive power is left to the families and the individuals. Under the laws of men, the totality of legislative and regulative institutions issue 80,000 pages of new laws every year. New laws are passed in complete secrecy and darkness, and politicians use tax money for propaganda to deceive the voters about the real issues of the new laws passed. At the end, the process of legislation is a game of manipulation on the part of the political class and stupidity on the part of the masses of voters, who are every year presented with new laws that take away their property, curtail their rights and liberties, and concentrate more power in the government. But what do I know, theonomy is tyrannical, and we are much better off under the laws of man.
