It will focus on the design and details of the SCO program as they are currently outlined. Examples of the coverage offered by SCO when combined with both revenue and yield insurance policies at various coverage levels will be illustrated. How producers’ choice among the Price Loss Coverage (PLC) and Ag Risk Coverage (ARC) commodity programs impacts their eligibility to use SCO will also be discussed. Finally, the revenue coverage offered by the SCO and ARC programs will be compared and contrasted with consideration given to the outlook for the prices of major commodities over the 2014 to 2018 crop years.
