Unfortuantely, last week, our office lost a dear friend and coworker to cancer. It was a long hard battle but the Airman was always so positive, never placing blame on the cancer for her problems. She always gave praise to God for allowing her to struggle so she could help others. She went down fighting. Today we had her memorial here on base and it was a great occasion in her honor, but its always hard to see the families in pain. I was honored to have been asked to present the family with her CCAF degree (which she finished even though she was sick) and a certificate showing a paver had been placed in the Airman troop walk at Lackland in her honor. I told the family, just as the paver will stand the test of time, so will the memory of her in our hearts. RIP SSgt and save a seat a mansion in Heaven for the rest of us.
