Unfortunately I was a little under the weather (ahem, hungover) - TopicsExpress

Unfortunately I was a little under the weather (ahem, hungover) from the previous nights Ravenau/Dauvissat extravaganza at Shaws and then a poorly conceived plot to drink through the Pappy and Willet flights at Delilahs. But Ill do my best to recap--other attendees please feel free to help jog my memory... First off was a terrific example of how well Dauvissat and oysters pair--brine on brine. The Bize CCs were not typical powerhouses but rather had very interesting mineral spines. But the 11 was disjointed and the 99 started out great and then went to a weird place. 88 Raphet CdlR had a pretty flowery nose, but wasnt monumental--pretty much what I would expect from the vintage. My recollection of the 93 Lignier MSD Chaffots was great stuffing, but not showing everything right now. 99 Dujac MSD 1er was powerful and rich and not too delicate, but maybe it will develop complexity as its formidable structure unfolds over time. 90 Jadot Bonnes Mares was a very good btl--showed lots of spice to go with plenty of earth and structure. Id guess its at least 10 years from peak maturity. But again, these last two days were a blur...
