Unfortunately at this time I have to inform everyone that our new sunshades over all fields have to be taken down immediately. I have been fighting this battle since they went up, and for the time being, we have lost. The City of El Cajon, The Public Works Dept., and the Cajon Valley school district have made it very clear that they do not approve. They have stated that.. 1. They will damage the fencing. 2. They would not hold the weight if someone climbs on them. 3. Entrapment issues We purchased these shades and they are built for this purpose. I will be submitting a formal request and plans to the city, but most likely it will not get resolved before the season ends. They have told us that it would have to go all the way to the State Architect for approval. I need to get on with this great season were having and honestly I dont have the time or resources to continue the fight at this time. I need to put my attention back on the kids of ECN! I do apologize I couldnt do more, I didnt want to let you all down. We know how much you all loved them. Right now I am trying to get approval to put them up for Saturdays games.
