Unfortunately, having his shoes stolen was not the only injustice Jim Thorpe suffered in relation to his winning two gold Olympic medals in Stockholm, Sweden in 1912. But after reading about Jim Thorpe on Wikipedia, which had this photo among others, I am sorry to not have known about him earlier in my life. He truly is one of the greatest Olympian athletes ever. Wikipedia stated that In a poll of sports fans conducted by ABC Sports, Thorpe was voted the Greatest Athlete of the Twentieth Century out of 15 other athletes including Muhammad Ali, Babe Ruth, Jesse Owens, Wayne Gretzky, Jack Nicklaus, and Michael Jordan.
