Unfortunately, its a very underhand method of removing people...They dont mark anyone as a duplicate voter, instead they send you a postcard saying please verify your address and name. It looks like junk mail. Most people throw it away. Renters, students, poor people who are moving a lot, the letter doesnt even find them – so they know who theyre knocking off. If a letter doesnt come back in a state like North Carolina, theyre going to remove that voter. In some states its a two-step process. If they dont vote Tuesday, theyre marked inactive. If they dont vote Tuesday, then theyll lose their vote for the presidential election and thats where were going to see the biggest effect of this. It could determine the Senate on Tuesday, but it will absolutely have a huge impact on the federal presidential election in 2016. – Greg Palast explains to Amy Goodman how voters are removed from the roles using the flawed Crosscheck Interstate name-matching program.
