Work as an extra gets paid nicely, this sounds like a featured extra call, which gets paid better... THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS - CASTING CALL. DreamWorks film shooting in Dunedin. DATE: THURSDAY 2nd OCTOBER 2014. TIME: 9.30am – 5pm. Please feel free to turn up anytime between 9.30 – 5 (doors close at 5). Be prepared to wait depending on numbers. You will need to fill out a form, and have your photo taken. VENUE: The Fortune Theatre - 231 Stuart Street, cnr Stuart Street and Moray Place. Dunedin. SHOOT DATES – We need people to be available to work between 18th October – 6th November in DUNEDIN. (There may be a paid wardrobe call before, or during that time) We are looking for Dunedin based European/Caucasian people of all ages for PAID work as an extra for the DreamWorks film The Light Between Oceans. It is set in Australia in the early 1900s where there were a lot of immigrants from the UK. We are particularly searching for identical twin baby boys aged 2- 3 months, and men to play wounded WW1 soldiers (so amputees, or men with scars and injuries that could be consistent with war wounds). If you havent heard about this through an agent you are still very welcome to just turn up, or email me a photograph (head and shoulders, and body) with your contact details, name and age if you cant make it. APPEARANCE – Important – please do not apply if you cannot fit into this brief. Requirements for extras - this is a period film set in the 1920’s so we have some specifications. It is likely extras will be asked to have a trim/haircut. Male extras are asked to please grow facial hair for us, and it is likely they will have their beards shaped or shaved into a moustache too. Women - (all women, no dyed hair or obviously highlighted hair - this was the era pre. dyes!) Young women - hair no shorter than a chin length bob. If hair is longer would they consider having a hair cut. Older women - hair no shorter than a chin length bob, and preferably longer. Elderly women - no specifications. Men - Hair can be short (but only side and neck) they need a little hair on top to work with. So basically longer is better than too short! If extras are in a position to grow facial hair that would be wonderful. They will have their beards and moustaches shaped by the expert make up team. We are especially looking out for Older men with grey/white hair and eyebrows. Children - Girls - bobbed haircuts or longer. Boys - willing to have a hair cut, and same as for men - nothing too short (especially on top) is preferable. CONFIDENTIALITY - Confidentiality – If you are hired you will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement before you are on set. No cameras and no discussing information from set, or production via social media like Facebook. Once on set they will not be able to leave to do anything during the filming day - like pick up kids etc. As many of you who have done this kind of work know - there will be a lot of waiting around (I.e time to read a book!).
