Unfortunately my story is not as common as it should be. The incidents of rape are increasing and more horrific. Abuse by family is rampant, age is no longer scared and girls as young as seven are victims, there are forced marriages and gang rapes to contend with. There is a surprising level of ignorance and sense of entitlement that makes men take what they have no right to with impunity. For a month we have heard it all but I think I’d like to end the unbreakable challenge by recognising and saying thank you to all the men who do not rape. To the good men in our society who respect and protect women and would never violate a woman in such a despicable manner. The good men who would never rape a woman, no matter what the temptation, the circumstance and the opportunity is.
