Unfortunately, something has happened to my 5 year old daughter - TopicsExpress

Unfortunately, something has happened to my 5 year old daughter recently. On December 3rd, I found out she was being molested at school, starting when she was 4, repeatedly by an older student. The school, Winthrop, has not only done nothing to help this situation, but has tried to cover this up. They released a notice to parents today, only after being contacted by the media. The notice states, In an effort to ensure open communication, as superintendent, I am sharing with the Ipswich School Community a situation that is unfolding at the Winthrop School. Wrong. They were notified on December 4th of what happened. The incident under investigation is an isolated one between two students and does not impact the school body at large. Wrong. My daughter was being molested over and over during lunch, feet from the cafeteria. She was being punched on the bus when he saw her, and threatened constantly at school. I only found out what was happening when (Ill spare the details) she was visibly injured and we had to go to the emergency room. Not only that, there is ANOTHER BOY who has been molesting younger students! I do not know any other information about the second boy. As awful as it has been dealing with what happened to her, Winthrop has made it worse. When I asked for the molester to be removed from school, I was told my child is now likely to become a molester because of what he did, so I should have compassion for the boy that did this to her. Since this has happened my kids have not gone to school. The boy does not have a chaperone, and is still allowed to ride the bus and go to breakfast club with limited supervision. As much as I want to release his name, I cant at this time. Winthrop has told me to keep my kids from their friends so they wont tell anyone, DCF has told me theyll open a case against me if I refuse to send my son to school, they have told me to keep quiet, and now they are telling parents to keep quiet. Winthrop provided my kids with one week of tutoring, for an hour per day as a substitute for the seven weeks of school theyve missed. As the letter states, As is always the case, we urge you to limit conversation about your concerns. Dont keep quiet. Have a conversation with your kids about this to ensure it has happened again. The media has now got wind of this and I spoke with them. Urge the school to actually watch the children. Ipswich Community Closet
