Unfortunately the CF L1 does make you a coach, BUT it doesnt give you experience of any kind. It is Only a two day knowledge course. Theres a very high percentage of Coaches in South Texas, whom have all of the sudden become experts in fitness, health and even more scary Strength and Conditioning. Yes CF does mention being an S&C program, however THAT dont make you an expert of Shit. The only authority to declare you an S&C coach, is the NSCA, and you must be CSCS certified, and THAT is not a two day thing, but a life time experience and knowledge, you must have a BS/MS even to just take the test. CrossFit doesnt make you an expert in anything, nor is the fix all, for all individuals. Coach is just a tittle and not a bundle of experience OR knowledge. Some of us have gone through college, 4,6, 8 years to even begin to get knowledge in S&C... Cause also a 4 year degree doesnt give you knowledge, just teaches you how to look for answers, how to properly research (ask those who have done a Grad program), and gives you a paper saying you put time in to learn some thing, from EXPERIENCED individuals, who often have over 20 years in the field. So sorry my friends, South Texas, RGV, you care about your health, fitness and your life.....? Get to know the person barking orders at you, and find out what kind of experience she/he has, if any. Yes, There is money in CrossFit, no not enough to make you a millionaire (except for the one who created it) but everyone seems to think that money is the main thing we should get from being a crossFit owner or coach, all while we are forgetting the main purpose CrossFit was created.... To help people get healthier, THE RIGHT WAY!! Earn your coaching tittle, not with a two day course or paying for several two day certifications, but take your time to grow, research, and seek knowledge from those who know more than you. Thats a coach.
