Unfortunately the Christmas Tree, and the lights on it, suffered - TopicsExpress

Unfortunately the Christmas Tree, and the lights on it, suffered some vandalism sometime around Wednesday 17th December. We are working to repair the damage to restore the display to the standard the whole town can appreciate, and hope that this will be complete by the evening of Thursday 18th. Obviously whoever is the perpetrator of the vandalism has no respect for the volunteers who spent many hours putting the display together, for everyone that turned out to see the switch on, for the towns traders, and for anyone - resident or visitor - who has enjoyed walking through town with the lights on. In the past we have had to fence the tree off because the the guy wires holding it were a trip hazard. We would hate to have to do this again to prevent vandalism, but if this continues we will have no choice but to do so. If you know who might have been responsible, please either tell us in complete confidence, or tell the police directly. Our town is bigger and stronger than those who are petty enough to make an attempt to try and destroy what weve built together. Lets not let them spoil it for the rest of us.
