Unfortunately there are silly men standing behind pulpits today - TopicsExpress

Unfortunately there are silly men standing behind pulpits today pretending that God wants them there. And these men generally avoid the topics of heaven and hell. They find that people are not all that eager today to be told about heaven and hell. They would rather have a comfortable 20 minute sermon that encourages them, makes them feel good about themselves. So they get some religious idiot to put on a nice shirt and stand up there tickling their ears once a week on Sunday morning. A real man of God could not teach one sermon without speaking of the eternal realities of what lies before everyone of us. Jesus said, Set yours eyes on things above. That does not exclude pastors. Jesus wants us to be having eternal perspectives. Teaching on heaven and hell, rewards and consequences, hope and truth of our coming home and the wedding feast we can be invited to should cause a church to be working for that Kingdom. For the Kingdom of God. Working and laboring for Christs Kingdom. And knowing and eagerly waiting more than any other thing to hear those most treasured words, Well done my good and faithful servant. With the rise of Dominion Theology, Kingdom Now Theology, being propagated in more and more churches in the western world. The biblical teaching by Jesus and the Apostles of Working for an Heavenly Treasure, is increasingly being replaced by a focus on self now, and improving our earthly lives and circumstances. However the bible does not teach that. The bible says, All those who desire to live Godly in Christ shall suffer persecution. (Cf 2 Timothy 3:12) Saint Paul the Apostle of God, by the direct revelation of Jesus Christ wrote in nearly all of his 13 Epistles to the church about God giving faithful servants a reward. And of course Jesus Himself taught this same doctrine while on earth with us. The New Testament doctrine of saved Christians being judged on account of their works and faithfulness for a reward, not our salvation. That is a free gift from God and not of works. But our status in the Millennial Reign and the magnitude of our reward we are told to work for. And each person shall be given as he and she deserves. However we have people today teaching that isnt a thing. They are teaching our eternal inheritance is the same as our eternal salvation. This is a false doctrine taught by unlearned and ignorant men. Saint Paul said he ran the race hoping for his prize. In Hebrews 11, the Author writes that Moses chose rather to suffer the afflictions with the Jews than to enjoy the pleasures of Egypt looking forward to a heavenly reward. The New Testament doctrine of working for a reward, when taught, will properly align and focus the hearts in the church to busy and working. And not filled with lazy wicked servants like it is today. Today when you tell people in the church thing that Jesus said to work for a reward, they will say I dont want to work for a reward I just want to work because I love Jesus. Well thats real nice, but Jesus commanded everyone to Work for your Reward. Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. —Yeshua, our God and Savior. (Matthew 16:24-27)
