Unfortunately, this is not an isolated example of CBP misconduct and abuse. For years, CBP officers have used unlawful tactics that violate the rights of U.S. citizens and noncitizens alike. The public knows little about CBP’s activities, and this lack of transparency has made it difficult to hold CBP officers accountable.
