Uniform Civil Law makes lots of sense. All the communities need to be gently but emphatically persuaded for this. People from the same community who whole heartedly agree with this simple concept need to play a good positive role in bringing all to one common stream. Its good for Indian women. Our women and children are the core of our society and country. Healthy and happy women and kids make a healthy and happy society. Its rather odd that the governments and political parties have not worked on it with result oriented seriousness and positive commitment. Hope that this will be done now but without even remote signs of jingoism or intentions of hurting sentiments. We need to tread carefully and cautiously. Will has been lacking so far. Hope not now. Another similar but small rule that we have failed to implement is the common and uniform rule for a mandatory helmet for the pillion riders on two wheeler vehicles. We have failed to implement it. It makes lots of common sense. Does not make sense in not treating all as equals. Its a matter of simple safety rules. Why cant we follow a simple common and uniform traffic and safety rule? Do we intend to bring a change at all?
