Union County Coroner William Holcombe has identified the Broad River drowning victim as 25-year old Todd Michael Moore of 2543 Meansville Road, Jonesville. An autopsy has been scheduled for this evening at Newberry Pathology. Sheriff David Taylor has said this incident does not appear suspicious in nature, and no foul play is suspected. The case remains open pending the autopsy and toxicology results. Moores body was recovered this morning around 11 a.m. Sheriff Taylor said he was pleased with the joint effort of his department and the resources of the SCDNR, Union County Rescue Squad and Dive Team, Newberry County Dive Team and Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, and expressed his appreciation to everyone involved in the search and recovery efforts.
