Press Release: The APC North America branch welcomes the indefinite suspension of Unisa Thorlu from the APC party. Unisa Thorlu was found guilty of participation in the highly disruptive and disorderly conduct on 25 November 2014. His conduct obstructed the safety and progress of the APC Party. Various sanctions have thus been imposed upon Unisa Thorlu in accordance with the categories of charges for which he was found guilty. Unisa, has been suspended indefinitely from the APC for giving out information to Kandeh Yumkela movement and other serious offences. This meticulous process has indeed produced the outcome of highest integrity, credibility and which will undoubtedly withstand the test of any court of law. It is for this reason that we believe the institution should not be fazed by the desperate and legally unsound court challenge threatened by the Unisa . We are confident that the case would be thrown out the same way we have thrown out Unisa Thorlu. The firm decision taken by the APC North America sends a strong message that anarchy, disruption, total disregard for the rules of the chapter cannot be tolerated by our beloved party. The decision is a step in the right direction towards restoring order in the APC party, arrest its degeneration and restore the confidence of the people of Sierra Leone in the APC. It is indeed a source of grave concern that the creeping anarchy brought by Unisa and his click since 2013 has put the party and its leaders in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. It is important that this chapter is allowed to direct its energies towards fulfilling its core obligation, which includes public consideration of issues of public importance affecting our society, holding the government to account without fear or favour, and bettering the conditions of our people. This is how the electorate will judge their leaders, not by the volume of howling, the number of gimmicks or the size of mayhem and anarchy Unisa cause. As Unisa Thorlu begin to serve his indefinite suspension from today, 2 December, it is our hope that he will use the period to deeply reflect on his conduct in the APC North America branch and mend his wayward ways.
