Unit 28 Self-Assessment This chapter and unit focus on “thinking like a language teacher” right from the start. I find the tips provided very useful to start my journey and to become a better instructor. I learn to focus on three areas that are important to continue development as a language teacher; these are: maintenance and improving of second language competence, observation of my teaching, and participation in professional communities. I am already enthusiastic to attend the conference I posted on Facebook. I feel that attending this will be so useful and helpful for me as I will attend for the keynote speakers (Jeremy Harmer and Paul Seligson). I feel that I will be able to make sense now and also relate what I have learned during our program. Moreover, I will remain open to becoming a better teacher and using new ideas through formal action research and informal feedback, and connecting with other teachers in the profession as a mentor, partner, or organization. This unit is very informative as it provides me with important ideas to become a teacher I want to be.
