United States and European Union - EU Trade Talks: Negotiations over a deal to create the world’s largest open #trade area are due to begin in Washington on July 8th. If successful, the landmark Trans-Atlantic free trade and #Investment Partnership talks could add GBP 100bn annually to the #European #economy, GBP 80bn to the US and GBP 85bn to the rest of the world. It could also create millions of jobs. Both sides will attempt to eliminate import duties on goods traded between the two economic superpowers, a move which would be expected to boost exports and result in cheaper goods for consumers. - The Telegraph
