United States overthrew Saddam Hussein and occupied Iraq for 9 years 8 months. The U.S. surge did not solve anything. It only kicked the can down the road. Next Uncle Sam blamed Nouri al Maliki for causing Iraqs resurgent civil war. The truth is that Uncle Sam opened Pandoras Box of Chaos in the Middle East with its illegal 2003 invasion of Iraq. Now Uncle Sam makes ISIS out as evil incarnate (and blames Maliki for the rise of ISIS). The truth is that Sunnis never accepted their loss of power after the 2003 U.S. invasion and immediately began an insurgency. Bottom line - war is not the answer for United States security. U.S. meddling only makes matters worse. It may be the destiny for Iraq to break into three nations. The only moral and pragmatic position for United States is to leave the Middle East lock, stock, and barrel. Leave Iraq ... to Iraqis.
