United We Roll World Tour Show Stardust Radio Network Inc stardustradio Saturday 08/02/14 10:00am - 12:15pm Central (Live Show) *Live Show To Be Followed by Repeat Presentations through appr 10am Central on Sunday 08/03/14 Welcome Stardust Listeners! We thank you for joining us on Saturday, Aug 2nd of 2014. This week we have two new interviews with deployed members from the 386th AEW (Air Expeditionary Wing) in Southwest Asia to share with you all. Then we will follow-up with an encore presentation of our first visit with soldiers from the 3rd ESC (Expeditionary Sustainment Command) in Afghanistan. Our first guest is Senior Airman John A. Stringer who is assigned to the 386th ELRS (Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron) in the area formally known as Material Management and now simply called Supply, though there are a variety of duties that one can be tasked within this unit. SrA Stringer issues protective equipment and chemical protective equipment to members who may be arriving for deployment at the base or who may be traveling farther on and into the Theater or Afghanistan. With about 4 years of service so far, SrA Stringer has already been stationed in South Korea, Italy and now is on his first deployment, this located in Afghanistan. We learn a lot from this fairly new member who has much to share about his military lifestyle and experiences. Our next guest is also with the 386 ELRS, though he serves in a different area from SrA Stringer. Senior Airman William P. Kane has accrued about 9 years of service which includes some active duty time with deployments in Iraq (2006) and Afghanistan (2009), followed by a change to his current service with the Air Force Reserve. During this deployment which is located in Southwest Asia, SrA Kanes duties include processing, loading and off-loading Hazardous cargo and Registered Mail on/off aircraft. Working with the retrograde (preparation/removal of equipment in association with withdrawal of US troops) has seen over 200 vehicles already make their way through SrA Kanes unit and handling on to other destinations. This is another outstanding visit with a dedicated Airman who is also busy with classes for his civilian job and much more. We are very honored to confirm that we have indeed reunited with the 3rd ESC (Expeditionary Sustainment Command) since our last series of interviews during their 2012 deployment to Afghanistan. These amazing soldiers are back in Afghanistan, but this time they are not only making sure that supplies (All supplies to be used by our troops including food, water, office supplies, etc., etc,) are delivered to all of our units in the country, they are also working hard on the retrograde, the closing down of operations and moving US equipment to home or other locations accordingly. We will visit with a few members from one of the many duty areas every other week and hope to talk with a lot of folks through the end of the year. We are going to replay our first interview with soldiers from the 3rd ESC Contract Support in the event that our listeners may have missed this interview during our show last Saturday. The very function of this office does help to give one some insight into the functions of the 3rd ESC even beyond this office. Contract Support and Financial Management helps the 3rdESC soldiers by completing contractual agreements between the unit (DOD/US Govt) and contracted labor which may come from US companies, international companies and/or local vendors/companies. Our guests who will explain all of this and more are: Maj Karma Miller - Financial Management Capt John Dunlapp - Logistician Master Sergeant Andrew Bennett - Automated Logistics Sergeant So that family members will find it easier to hear their loved ones in the interviews, we will record the live show which starts at 10am Central on Saturday and then we will let the copy of the show play for about 24 hours - until appr 10am Sunday morning. After the broadcast period, an MP3 copy will be made of this show and placed on our Archive site where anyone can listen or download a copy. Please allow about a week before looking for the show on the Archive site at stardustradio.info. The taped visits contained in this show take us up to our 1,295th interview with our Heroes of Freedom who are serving far from home. We are extremely honored to bring these outstanding guests to you all. Once again, we believe you will find each of these visits to be inspirational, informational and a wonderful opportunity to meet men and women who are keeping our families safe and our freedom secure from their duty stations around the world.
