Unity is our best response to external challenges Yulia Tymoshenko, candidate for president of Ukraine and leader of the Batkivshchyna Party, believes that unity of the Ukrainian people is the key to countering threats to Ukraines territorial integrity. “The Resistance Movement now includes volunteers from nearly all regions of our country – from Crimea to Luhansk, from Uzhhorod to Kyiv. This shows that regardless of our position on the future, because some want closer relations with Russia and others with the EU, now that war has reached our borders today we are more united than ever,” Yulia Tymoshenko said during a meeting today with the residents of Snihurivka, Mykolayiv oblast. The leader of Batkivshchyna says the current situation is particularly dangerous because Russias special forces are trying to provoke conflict between Ukrainians with different political views. “Odesa was a special operation because the people didnt fight one another, the situation was incited. Subversives today are dressed as ordinary Ukrainian civilians and pretending to show that its not Russian special forces fighting, but one part of our people against another,” she added. Yulia Tymoshenko is afraid there can be a repeat of this scenario during rallies in support of Ukraines unity. “On May 9 our country will remember our heroes, our grandfathers, relatives that gave their lives defending Ukraine and the world from the fascists. We can not allow them to provoke us to destroy one another. I ask that everyone be smart and careful on this day and not give them any grounds to treat our people like this,” the leader of Batkivshchyna said.
